> ” In a few years, Allah’s is the authority first and last. On that day the believers shall rejoice”: (04)

> ” In the help of Allah. He helps whomsoever He wills. He is all-mighty, ever-merciful”: (05)

Flag 13: Allah Predicts Subsequent Byzantine Victory: (Rum-30: 03-05):

Verily it was not for Allah to do injustice to them, but they did injustice to themselves”: (09)

> ” Then evil was the end of those who did evil, for they belied the signs of Allah, and they used to mock at them”: (10)

Flag 16: Allah’s Warning: Evil ends in Evil: (Rum-30: 09-10)

Flag 17: The Circular (Cyclic) nature of Allah’s Creations: (Rum-30: 11&19 : Imran-3: 27)

Note:

(i) Everything must return to its origin as decreed by Allah.

(ii) The process of creation is evolutionary besides being circular in nature.

(iii) (Nitrogen & Water Cycles) in the earthly environment are the examples of the same.

> ” On the day the hour (resurrection) comes, the guilty will despair”: (12)

> ” Among His signs is the creation of heavens and the earth, and the variety of your languages and your complexions. Verily there are signs in this for those who know”: (22)

Flag 20: The Diversity of Languages & Complexions are Signs of Allah: (Rum-30: 22)

Note:

(i) The diversities identified above stand out as the most complicated aspect of the evolution of the human civilisations.

(ii) No existing scientific logic could comprehensively explain the above.

(iii) The same are due to attributes promoted by Allah Himself.

> ” Among His signs is your sleeping in the night and in the day your seeking His grace. Verily there are signs in this for those who hearken”: (23)

Thus We make our signs for those who comprehend”: (28)

Flag 22: Could a source be equated against the Master of the source: (Rum-30: 26-29)

Note:

(i) Recognising ‘Mother Nature’ as the source is equally ridiculous.

Flag 23: Allah’s Religion (Islam) in Harmony with nature:The latent (or Original Covenant): (Rum-30: 30)

Note

(i) The verse (Rum-30: 30) refutes the Christine doctrine of ‘Original Sin’ which is quoted below:

“Original sin, in Christian doctrine, the condition or state of sin into which each human being is born; also, the origin (i.e., the cause, or source) of this state. Traditionally, the origin has been ascribed to the sin of the first man, Adam, who disobeyed God in eating the forbidden fruit (of knowledge of good and evil) and, in consequence, transmitted his sin and guilt by heredity to his descendants.

(ii) The knowledge of Allah’s unity (Tawhid) lies in the original human nature (fitra) as per verse (Rum-30:30).

(iii) Each entity, before coming into this world, makes a promise with the Lord that it will exist only to fulfil the will of the Lord, and never shall rebel against His authority. This is known as the original or the ‘Latent Covenant’.

(iv) Prophets were sent to remind them of what they already know. To betray (Tawhid) is to betray human nature and even to leave the domain of human existence.

(v) (Iyyaka Na-Budu) which is an integral part of each compulsory prayer stands as a confirmation of the latent covenant with Allah.

> ” Turn towards Him, safeguard yourself against evil, establish prayer and be not of those who associate (false) gods with Allah”: (31)

> ” Of those who split up religion and become sects, every party rejoicing in what is with them”: (32)

> ” When harm afflicts men they call upon their Lord, turning to Him (in repentance ), then when He causes them to taste His mercy, lo! some of them associate partners with their Lord”: (33)

> ” So as to disbelieve in what We have given them. So enjoy a while; soon you shall come to know”: (34)

> ” Or, have We sent down any authority to them which mentions what they associate with Him”? (35)

> ” When We cause people to taste of mercy they rejoice in it, and if an evil falls on them because of what their hands sent forth! lo they despair”: (36)

> ” Do they not see Allah increases the provision or decreases it for whomsoever He wills? Verily here are signs in this for those who believe”: (37)

Flag 25: Denial of Allah’s Mercy (Thanklessness) & Shirk: (Rum-30: 19-20, 31 & 33-37 & 46)

> ” So give to the near of kin his due, and to the needy and to the wayfarer. This is best for those who seek the pleasure of Allah, and it is they who are successful”: (38)

Flag 26: Giving to (Near of Kin), Needy & Wayfarer: Door to be amongst (Muflehun): (Rum-30: 38-39)

Note:

(i) Giving (Fadak) to Hazrat Fatima Zehra by the holy Prophet was based on this logic.

> ” What you give at usury, that it may increase on (other) people’s wealth, does not find increase with Allah; what you give in charity, seeking the pleasure of Allah, will increase manifold”: (39)

Flag 27: Share your Provisions without Recourse to Usury & Seek Allah’s Pleasure: (Rum-30: 39)

> ” Allah is He who created you, then gave you sustenance, then He causes you to die, then He shall bring you back to life. Is there any associate-gods who do any of these things? Glory be to Him! High and exalted is He above what they associate with Him”: (40)

Flag 28: High & Exalted far, far beyond having any associates! Can any of these things (Rum-30: 40) any associate-god do? (Rum-30: 40)

> ” So set your face towards the established religion before the day comes from Allah from which there is no averting. On that day they shall be separated”: (43)

> ” Whosoever disbelieves shall bear the consequences of disbelief, and those who do good deeds are making preparations for themselves”: (44)

Flag 30: Life tenure is nothing but (a pause to compete) and get ready for the ‘Day’: (Rum-30: 43-45)

> ” So that He may recompense those who believe and do good, by His grace. Verily He does not love disbelievers”: (45)

> Among His signs is that He sends the winds as harbingers of glad tidings, so that He may make you taste His mercy, and that ships sail by His command, and you may see His grace, and may haply be grateful”: (46)

> ” Verily We sent messengers before you to their people who came with clear signs; then We took vengeance upon those who were guilty. It was incumbent on Us to help believers”: (47)

Flag 31: Allah’s Grace and Mercy: Incumbent on Allah to Help Believer: (Rum-30: 47)

> ” Allah is He who sends the wind so that they raise clouds, then He spreads them over the sky as He wills, and causes them to break, and you see the drops of rain coming down from between them. When He makes it fall upon whomsoever He pleases of His servants, lo! They rejoice”: (48)

> ” Even though before it was sent down upon them, before that, they were dumb with despair”: (49)

> ” If We send a wind from which they see (their tilth) turn yellow, they would certainly become ungrateful (disbelievers)”: (51)

Flag 32: Lifeline based on (Winds & Rain) and reactions lacking truthful gratitude for Allah’s Mercy: (Rum-30: 46 & 48-51)

> ” Verily you cannot make the dead to hear, nor can you make the deaf to hear the call, when they turn away on their heels”: (52)

> ” Nor can you lead back the blind from their straying. You can make none hear except those who believe in our signs and submit themselves to Our will”: (53)

Flag 33: Contemplation on Allah’s signs and an unqualified submission to His will is a prerequisite for availing His Grace & Mercy: (Rum-30: 52-53 & Yunus-10: 100)

> ” Allah is who created you from weakness, then gave you strength after weakness, then, after strength , gives you weakness and grey hair. He creates whatsoever He wills. He is all-knowing, all-powerful”: (54)

> ” Follow what is revealed to you from your Lord. Verily Allah is aware of what you do”: (02)

> ” Put your trust in Allah. Allah is a sufficient protector”: (03)

Flag 73: Allah the Protector: Absolute faith and trust in Allah commanded: (Ahzab-33: 01-03)

> ” Allah has not made for any man two hearts in his breast, nor has he made your wives whom you declare (to be your mothers) your (real) mothers, nor has he made your adopted sons your (real) sons. This is only your sayings by your mouths; and Allah speaks the truth and He guides to the (right) way”: (04)

Flag 74: Relationship by way of adoption explained: (Ahzab-33: 04-05)

Note:

(i) The matter concerning adoption came into light with the marriage of the holy Prophet to (Zainab) was made controversial by the hypocrites and started attracting attention of some faithfuls also.

(ii) Zayd a slave purchased by the holy Prophet later freed by him when his father located his kidnapped son and requested his release through Abu Talib.

(iii) Zayd after being freed decided to stay with the holy Prophet who declared him as his adopted son and asked people to bear witness for the same.

(iv) The holy Prophet married his cousin (Zainab) to Zayd. The marriage did not work out well and ended up in a divorce.

(v) On Allah’s command, the Holy Prophet married (Zainab) which was labelled as marrying the wife of his son, a forbidden act!

(vi) Verses (Ahzab-33: 04-05) cleared the issue forever. Accordingly, no relationship based on adoption could ever be considered the same as blood relationship.

> ” Call them by ( the names) of their fathers. It is more just in the sight of Allah, but if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brothers in faith and your friends. It shall not be a sin if you make a mistake, unless you do so intentionally; and Allah is forgiving, merciful”: (05)

> ” The prophet (Muhammad) has a greater claim (more authority) over the believers than they have on their selves, and his wives are (as) their mothers; and blood relations are closer to each other, according to the book of Allah, than (other) believers and the emigrants, save that you do what is just to your friends. This is inscribed in the book”: (06)

Flag 75: Commandments: Obligations towards the holy Prophet and his wives: Status of Blood Relations: (Ahzab-33: 04-06)

(ii) The covenant includes promise of each prophet to let it be known to their followers that they shall support and join the last prophet (Muhammad) and his Ahlul Bayt (in an unbroken chain of their twelve Imams): Ahzab-33: 33).

Flag 78: Battle of Trench (Khandaq): (Ahzab: 09-27)

Note:

(i) Verses (09-23) refer to the battle of Trench (Khandaq) where single combat between Ali Ibn Abu Talib and Amr bin Abd Wudd proved decisive. After the death of Amr bin Abd Wudd the infidel army facing a hurricane retreated without any further combat.

(ii) Similarly a single combat resulting in the killing of Jalut by Prophet Daud (also mentioned as Talut) resulted in the defeat of a very large infidel army.

> ” When they came upon you from above and from below you, eyes became dull and hearts reached their throats, and you were imagining diverse thoughts about Allah”: (10)

Flag 79: Faithfuls under complete awe and fright at the sight of Amr Ibna Abd Wudd: (Ahzab-33: 10)

Flag 80: Know those whose belief remained (chronically) on a threshold: (Ahzab-33: 11)

Note:

(i) ‘Believers’ above refer to that category who were not true faithfuls.

(ii) An army of allied clans (10,000 in numbers) came against the Muslims in the fifth year of Hijrah.

(iii) The pagans of Makkah, Jews and Bedouins under secret pacts besieged Medina.

(iv) A trench was dug up around Medina, as advised by (Salman Farsi), as a defensive measure unknown to the invaders.

(v) During the thirty days siege, many miraculous acts attributable to the holy Prophet in overcoming food shortage and difficulties in digging the trench are on record.

(vi) Finally, a few of the invaders led by Amr Ibn Abd Wudd managed to jump over the narrow part of the unguarded ditch (trench) on their horses.

(vii) Amr Ibn Abd Wudd had such a reputation that none of the faithfuls was willing to accept his repeated challenge for a single combat except Ali.

(viii) On his third call, holy Prophet prayed for Ali and sent him saying: (Kulle-Eman:Total Faith) is going against (Kulle-Kufr: Total infidelity)

(ix) Against all odds and expectations, Ali returned victorious while the holy Prophet commented: Ali’s one single strike which killed Amr Ibn Abd Wudd is equal to the entire worship of the (Saqalain: Both Worlds).

(x) Demoralised by their champion’s (Amr Ibn Abd Wudd’s) death, other intruders rushed their horses back across the trench. One of them could not make it and fell in the ditch.

(xi) A terrible blast of cold winds followed. That uprooted tents and other installations. Other mysterious signs completely terrified and demoralised the (10,000) strong forces and they went into retreat without a fight.

(xii) Never again, after this, an expedition against Medina was launched during the lifetime of the holy Prophet.

> ” When the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was a disease were saying: Allah and His messenger promised us nothing but deceit”: (12)

> ” When a party of them said: O people of Yathrib (Medina), there is no place for you, turn back: and a party of them asked leave of the prophet saying: Verily our houses lie exposed; while they were not exposed. They only wanted to run away”: (13)

> ” If (the enemy) had entered (the city) from every side and they had been incited to treachery, they would certainly have done so, while they would have tarried but a little”: (14)

> ” Verily they had earlier made a covenant with Allah that they would never turn their backs; and (every) covenant made with Allah is answerable”: (15)

Flag 81: Beware! None of the covenant with Allah could be disregarded: (Ahzab-33: 15)

Note:

(i) Included therein is the covenant jointly made by all faithfuls at Ghadir (Maidah: 03, 07 and 67).

(ii) Earlier covenants include those made by deserters at (Battle of Uhud).

> ” Say (O Muhammad): Flight shall not profit you if you flee from death or slaughter, and (even) then you will not be allowed to enjoy yourself except for short while”: (16)

> ” Say: Who is he who can protect you from Allah if He intends to bring evil on you or intends to have mercy on you? They will never find a guardian or helper apart from Allah”: (17)

> ” Verily Allah knows who among you obstruct, and those who say to their brethren: Come to us: and they do not come to the battle but a little”: (18)

> ” Being niggardly towards you. When fear comes, you will see them looking at you, their eyes rolling like (the eyes) of whom death has cast its shadow. Then when the fear departs, they smite you with sharp tongues, being niggardly of the good things. These have not believed. So Allah has nullified their deeds. This is easy for Allah”: (19)

Flag 82: The state of majority of faithfuls facing enemy at the trench: (Ahzab-33: 19-20)

Note:

(i) Most of the companions of the holy prophet, who were weak in faith, fell easy prey to the tactics promoted by the hypocrites. The attitude at battles of Badr and Uhud was repeated in spite of promises to act otherwise. However, when the danger passed, they were ever so eager to brag and show their solidarity and greed to collect a share of spoils of the war.

> ” They think the clans have not yet departed, and should the clans come (again), they would fain be in the desert with the wandering Arabs, seeking news about you; and had they been among you they would not fight save a little”: (20)

Flag 83: About those who failed to grasp the victory and took to desert in fear: (Ahzab-33: 20)

> ” Verily in the messenger of Allah (Muhammad) you have an excellent pattern for him who has hope in Allah and last day, and remembers Allah much”: (21)

> ” When the believers saw the clans, they said: This is what Allah and His Messenger had promised us, and Allah and His Messenger had spoken the truth; and this enhanced their faith and submission”: (22)

Flag 84: The contrasting attitude of the true believers at the front lines of battle of Khandaq (Trench): (Ahzab-33: 22-23):

Note:

(i) The ‘believers’ mentioned in the verse are none but the likes of Ali Ibna Abu Talib.

(ii) Included therein are Hamza, Jafar, Abu Obayda with their vows already fulfilled: and Ali who is still waiting.

> ” Among the believers, there are men who are true to the covenant they had made with Allah. There is among them who has fulfilled his vow, there is he who is still waiting, and they have not changed in the least”: (23)

> ” That Allah may recompense the truthful for their truthfulness and punish the hypocrites if He wills, or turn to them in mercy. Verily Allah is forgiving, merciful”: (24)

> ” Allah turned back the disbelievers in their fury, they did not gain any advantage. Allah sufficed for the believers in the fighting. Allah is all-powerful, all-mighty”: (25)

> ” He brought those of the people of the book who supported them down from their fortress, and cast terror into their hearts, (so that) you killed some, and some you made captive”: (26)

> ” And He made you inherit their land, houses, property and a land you have not traversed before. Allah has power over all things”: (27)

Flag 85: The conspiring Jewish tribe punished: (Ahzab-33: 26- 27)

Note:

(i) The above verses refer to Jewish tribe of the Banu Qurayza who were punished under Jewish law by a Jewish arbiter (Sad bin Mu-az).

> ” O Prophet (Muhammad) say to your wives: If you desire the life and pomp of this world, come, I will provide you (handsomely), and let you depart with an honorable release”: (28)

> ” But if you desire Allah, His messenger and the abode of the hereafter, then verily Allah has prepared for those who are good among you, a great recompense”: (29)

> ” O wives of the prophet, whosoever of you commit manifest indecency, her punishment will be doubled. This is easy for Allah”: (30)

Flag 86: Allah’s warning to the wives of Holy Prophet: (Ahzab-33: 28-30)

Note:

(i) Most commentators agree that warnings to the wives resulted due to ongoing pressure for a better standard of living which the holy Prophet could not afford.

(ii) Ummi Salma was first to get up and declare that: I have chosen Allah and the holy Prophet: and the verse (Ahzab-33: 29) was revealed.
