Give them what they have spent. There is no blame on you if you marry them when you pay them their dowries. Do not hold to (marriage) ties with disbelieving women. Then a party of children of Israil believed, while another party disbelieved. Then We helped those who believed against their enemies, so they became victorious”: (14)

Flag 30: (Dawat-e-Dil-Ashir): Be Allah’s ever victorious helpers: (Saff-61: 14)

(i) A similar event was ( Dawat-e-dil-Ashir): The Holy Prophet invited his near relatives at the house of Abu Talib and said: O Kinsman! By Allah, I and I alone can offer you the most precious of gifts, the good of this world and the hereafter. Allah has commanded me to call you to that which is best – His worship. I, therefore, call upon you to come forward and testify to my prophethood. Who among you will help me and join me in my task, and be my brother, my lieutenant, my vice-gerant, and my successor?

(ii) Ali was the only person who came forward in response to the call of the holy Prophet. Then there, the holy Prophet declared as below:

(iii) Verily Ali is my brother, my vice-gerant, and my successor. From this day it has been made obligatory upon everyone to obey the superior authority of Ali.

(iii) Prophets’ (Ibrahim and Ismail prayed (Baqarah-2: 129). Allah fulfilled their desire and revealed (Jumuah-62: 02): confirming the same in identical words.

> ” And (to) others among them who have not joined yet. He (Allah) is ever-prevalent, all-wise”: (03)

(i) ‘others’ refers to the universality of the Holy Prophets message which was for the entire mankind and for all times to come.

(ii) It is a well known tradition that at the time of the revelation of this verse the Holy Prophet referred to the people of Iran from where Salman came.

> ” That is the grace of Allah, He gives it to whomsoever He pleases. Allah is the Lord of great grace”: (04)

Flag 34: No barriers and/or bounds for Allah’s Grace: (Jumuah-62: 04)

(i) Allah’s message in Arabic through an Arab messenger in no way limits its universal applicability.

(ii) Some poor believers came to the Holy Prophet and told that rich people give alms, liberate slaves, perform Hajj while they are deprived of the rewards due to poverty.

(iii) The Holy Prophet told them to recite ‘La illaha ilallah’ a hundred times to earn better rewards.

> ” The similitude of those who were charged with (the law of) the Tawrat which they did not observe, is that of a donkey who carries a load of books. How wretched is the similitude of the people who belie the signs of Allah! Allah does not guide the people who are unjust”: (05)

Flag 35: Holding ownership of Allah’s message & guidance means little unless backed by practice and implementation: (Jumuah-62: 05)

(i) This verse is warning to those faithfuls also who learn the holy Quran by heart and recite its verses but do not follow its guidance.

> ” Say (O Muhammad): O you who profess Judaism, if you claim that you are the favourite of Allah, then desire for death, if you are faithful”: (06)

> ” But they will never desire for it because of what their own hands have sent before, and Allah knows well those who are unjust” : (07)

Flag 36: Desiring Death: A litmus test for the true faithfuls! (Jumuah-62: 06-07)

(i) A true wali (friend) of Allah is not only free from the fear of death but awaits it at every turn and crossing of the path of his life with open arms.

(ii) On the authority of Imam Ali: I, the son of Abu Talib, is more familiar with death than a child is with his mother’s breast.

> ” Say (O Muhammad): Verily the death from which you flee, will surely come to you. You will then be sent back to the knower of the unseen and the seen, then He will inform you of what you used to do”: (08)

(i) Friday is a day of weekly assembly for Muslims for social contact.

(ii) Jewish Sabbath is primarily a commemoration of God’s ending His work and resting on the seventh day.

(iii) According to the Quran Allah does not rest nor does He feels fatigue (Baqarah-2: 255).

(iv) Christian weekly day is Sunday.

(v) After the Friday prayers, Muslims are encouraged to attend to their businesses, if so desired.

> ” And when they see merchandise or sport, they break away to it, and leave you standing. Say (O Muhammad): What is with Allah is better than the sport and merchandise, and Allah is best of sustainers”: ( 11)

Flag 40: Wasting time on fro and frolic on Friday (specifically at congregation time): (Jumuah-62: 11)

(i) Once, when the Holy Prophet was offering Friday prayers, a caravan entered the town singing beating drums and playing musical instruments. According to Jabir, save twelve persons including Jabir, everyone left the masjid to enjoy merry-making and transact business. Thrice did the people behave like this and then this verse was revealed.

Surah Al Munafiqun

(63: 01-11)

> ” When the hypocrites come to you, they say: ‘We bear witness that verily you are messenger of Allah’: Verily Allah knows (O Muhammad) that you are His messenger and verily Allah bears witness that hypocrites are indeed liars”: (01)

> ” They have made their oaths a shield in order to obstruct (others) from the way of Allah. Verily evil is what they do”: (02)

> ” That is because they believed and then (again) disbelieved so a seal has been put on their hearts, therefore they do not understand”: (03)

> ” When you look at them, their physical appearance attracts you; and if they talk , you listen to their speech. They are like propped-up blocks of wood. They deem every cry (is directed) against them. They are the enemies, beware of them. May Allah annihilate them! Whither are they deviating”! (04)

Flag 41: Allah’s testimony against hypocrites: Understanding their hypocrisy: (Munafiqun-63: 01-04)

(i) Allah’s emphatic repeated denunciation of (Munafiqun) and commands to battle them on all fronts, has been all but systematically camouflaged, over the period, commencing the departure of the holy Prophet from this world.

(ii) A convenient scapegoat (Abdullah bin Obay) has been found to divert all denunciations while relieving all other too obvious targets scot-free.

(iii) To mislead and superficially satisfy ignorant multitudes, a paradox has been invented.

(iv) Pronouncing all those who uttered (Kalmah) verbally, saw and heard the holy Prophet, automatically enjoining the select group of Sahabi (Companion). Thereby assigning all of them highest honour, status and respect in total contradiction of Quranic commands.

(v) After the departure of the Holy Prophet, step by step taking over control of Muslim society commenced.

(vi) The culmination of all such acts was achieved in the reign of Muawiya after Ali’s departure from this world.

(vii) After the Holy Prophet only battles against hypocrites were during Ali’s Caliphate.

(viii) It was the sacrifice of Hussain at Karbala which fully exposed the hypocrites and the modus operandi of hypocrisy.

(ix) Short of Hussain’s sacrifice, the Islam today, would have been totally based on the practices of the hypocrites.

(x) Identification of Hussain as ‘Father of the servants of Allah’ (Aba Abdillah) signifies revival of true Islam entirely due to his sacrifice at Karbala.

Flag 46: Allah Glorified Universally by All (No Exception): Allah: The owner of the kingdom and all the praise for Him: (Taghabun-64: 01):

(i) Obeying the ‘Divine Order’ laws (Allah’s Way: Sunnat) means glorifying or celebrating His praise which is worship. Prostration is another way of glorifying Him.

(ii) All entities in the universe unfailing (willingly or unwillingly) glorify the ‘Divine’ by ceaselessly following Allah’s Way (Sunnat).

> ” He it is who created you, then (some) of you are disbelievers and (some) of you are believers; and Allah sees what you do”: (02)

> ” He created the heavens and the earth with truth and shaped you and made good your shapes; and to Him is the ultimate goal”: (03)

Flag 47: All beings born alike with truth (Muslims): Allah: the great knower: (Taghabun-64: 02-04)

(i) Every individual is born alike with truth (Muslim).,

(ii) Adoption of different faiths, is solely due to desires and liking of the parents or imposed by environmental, cultural or social factors.

(iii) Allah created all mankind pure and good, but because of their allotted freedom of action, evil crept into some of them whereas some excelled in goodness higher and higher.

> ” Has not the account of those who disbelieved before come to you, who tasted evil consequences of their conduct, and for whom is the painful chastisement”? (05)

> ” That was so because their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they said: What! Shall a (mere) mortal guide us? So they disbelieved and turned away; but Allah needs not (anything). Allah is self-sufficient, owner of the praise”: (06)

> ” Those who disbelieve think that they will not be raised again. Say (O Muhammad): Yes. By my Lord, you will certainly be raised again, then you will be informed of what you had done. That is easy for Allah”: (07)

Flag 48: Hadith-al-Thaqalayn: Be not like those who disbelieved before you: Get Guided by the Holy Prophet and the ‘Light’: (Taghabun-64: 05-08)

(i) ‘the light’ refers to the Quran and (Ahlul Bayt inclusive of their twelve holy Imams in an unbroken chain: Ahzab-33: 33): duly confirmed by (Hadith al Thaqalayn).

(ii) ‘Hadith al Thaqalayn’: The Holy Prophet said: I leave behind, amongst you, the ‘Thaqalayn’ (two weighty, indispensable, influential authorities), the book of Allah and my Ahlul Bayt. Should you be attached to these two, never, never, shall you go astray, after me’, for verily these two shall never separate from each other; and, joined together, they shall meet me at the spring of Kawthar.

> ” The day – He will gather you together on the day of gathering – will be the day of mutual loss. (i) Alert! Occasional conflict of interest in favour of wife, children and/or relatives are a potential source of initiation of sins; Be on guard!

(ii) However, they must not be harshly treated for their misguided promptings.

> ” So fear (the wrath of) Allah as much as you can, and listen and obey and spend (in His way) for your own good. Whosoever is saved from his own greed, then such are those who are successful”: (16)

> ” If you lend a goodly loan to Allah, He will double it for you, and forgive you, Allah is the most appreciating, the most forbearing”: (17)

Flag 52: Fear Allah & obey Him to get rid of the greed: Goodly loan to Allah & its dividend: Road to be amongst (Muflehun: the successful): Taghabun-64: 16-17)

(i) In a broader sense, greed consists of personal ego and urge for maintaining superiority over others (in matters of wealth, family, children, knowledge, status, power, etc) and being engulfed in the thoughts about self that is ‘Me’. This tendency is exploited by Shaytan, often unfailingly, and must be guarded against.

(ii) Those who are able to overcome the tendency concerning ‘Me’ are the ones whose life is only for ‘He’ which is none but Allah. These are (Muflehun: the Successful) the achievers and have been given glad tidings by Allah as below:

Surah At Talaq

(65: 01-12)

> O Prophet (say to the believers): When you divorce women, divorce at their prescribed period, and count their prescribed period (accurately) and fear (the wrath of) Allah, your Lord. Do not turn them out of their houses, nor shall they (themselves) go out, unless they commit a manifest indecency. These are the limits set by Allah. Whosoever transgresses limits set by Allah, then surely he does injustice to his own soul. You never know that Allah may perchance bring about thereafter some new situation”: (01)

Flag 54: Invalidity of, three Talaqs at a time, based on Quran: (Talaq-65: 01)

(i) Shia point of view prohibits the concept of three talaqs at the same.

> ” Divorce may be pronounced twice, then either keep her in good relations or let her go with kindness>>>”

(Baqarah-2: 229)

(ii) The multiple uttering of talaq (no matter how many times), without a gap, stands invalid and carries no weight-age.

> ” And if you fear a breach between the two (husband and wife), then choose one arbitrator from his family, and one arbitrator from her family, if the two desire compromise, Allah will effect harmony between them, verily Allah is knowing, aware”

(Nisa-4: 35)

(iii) The third pronouncement of talaq must give opportunity to husband and wife for reconciliation.

> ” So if he divorces her (for a third time), she will not be lawful to him unless she marries another husband>>>”

(Baqarah-2: 230)

(iv) References: (Baqarah-2: 227-233&236-237&241:Nisa-4: 35:Ahzab-33: 49)

> ” When they reach their prescribed term, then either keep them with fairness or part from them with fairness, and call to witness two just men from among you, and establish the evidence as before Allah. Thus is admonished he who believes in Allah and the last day. Whosoever fears (the wrath of) Allah, He will make a way out for him”: (02)

> ” And provide him with sustenance from where he does not reckon. Allah is sufficient for him, who relies on Him. Verily Allah accomplishes His purpose. Allah has indeed prescribed a measure for everything”: (03)

Flag 55: ‘Measure’ of everything in Allah’s Way (Sunnat): (Talaq-65: 03)

(i) While dealing with scientific subjects the term ‘Measure’ refers to the laws of creation and their functioning.

(ii) Allah’s Way (Sunnat) is equally applicable to all other subjects, inclusive of but not limited to the other norms (Social, cultural, business, defence, corporate, trading, legal, judicial, administrative, governance, etc). For each of these the term ‘Measure’ is applicable and is readily available in Allah’ s book (Quran).

> ” Verily We have propounded for mankind in this Quran examples of every kinds so that they may contemplate”

(Zumar-39: 27)

> ” As for those women who have lost hope for menstruation, and if you have a doubt, then the prescribed period (of waiting) is three months, as also for those who have not menstruated as yet. As for those who are pregnant, their prescribed period is until they deliver their burden. Whosoever fears (the wrath of) Allah, He will make things easy for him”: (04)

> ” This is the command of Allah which He has sent down to you; and whosoever fears (the wrath of) Allah, He will wipe of his sins from him and will increase his reward”: (05)

> ” Lodge them where you live, according to your means; and do not harass them so as to straiten their circumstances. If they are pregnant, spend on them until they lay down their burden. Then, if they suckle your (offspring), give them their recompense; and deal with one another with fairness. If you find yourself in difficulties let some other woman suckle (the child) for her”: (06)

> ” Let the man of means spend according to his means, and he whose means are limited should spend of what Allah has given him. Allah does not burden a soul beyond what He has given it. Allah will soon bring ease after hardship”: (07)

Flag 56: The Divorce: Allah’s commands concerning divorce: No Soul ever overburdened beyond its capacity: (Talaq-65: 01-07)

(i) Talaq means letting a woman free from the bond of marriage or the dissolution of the contract of marriage.

(ii) Talaq is the most disliked by Allah amongst all the permissible acts.

(iii) Talaq must be used as the last resort option when reconciliation has been ruled out completely.

(iv) On the authority of (Ahlul Bayt): Use of Talaq option must be exercised judiciously.

(v) Making Talaq deceptively simple and easy is neither desired nor should be exercised likewise.

(vi) Divorce may be pronounced twice. Thereafter adequate intervals must remain available for considerations with respect to reconciliation.

>>> ” Divorce may be pronounced twice, then either keep her in good relations or let her go with kindness>>>”

Baqarah-2: 229

(vii) These two pronouncements can be revoked.

(viii) Only after the third announcement Talaq becomes final.

> ” So if he divorces her (for a third time), she will not be lawful to him unless she marries another husband>>>”:

Baqarah-2: 230

(ix) Shia Fiqh needs to be consulted for many other details not highlighted here.

(x) In short, Shia Fiqh keeps reconciliation option open till an absolute dead end is reached.

> ” How many habitations rebelled against the command of their Lord and His messengers; so We called them to a stern account and punished them with the harshest punishment”: (08)

> ” So they tasted the evil consequences of their actions; and the end of their deeds was ruin”: (09)

> ” Allah has prepared for them severe chastisement. So, you men of understanding who have believed, fear (the wrath of) Allah. Allah has indeed sent down a reminder to you”: (10)

Flag 57: The chastisement of previous rebellious people is a lesson for those who think and contemplate: (Talaq-65: 08-10)

(i) The ‘Reminder: Zikr’ (Talaq-65: 10) is another title of the holy Prophet.

(ii) Faithfuls are warned to think of consequences of disobedience of the holy Prophet in any form or manner.

> ” A messenger who recites to you the clear signs of Allah so that he may bring those who believe and do good deeds out of darkness into light. Whosoever believes in Allah and does good deeds, He will admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow, where he will abide forever. Allah has bestowed on him goodly sustenance”: (11)

Flag 58: Journey to light from darkness for faithfuls: (Talaq-65: 11)

(i) Sincere and truthful following of the messenger (Muhammad: inclusive of Ahlul Bayt in an unbroken chain of their twelve Imams) is the only way out of the darkness into the light.

(ii) Other references on this subject highlighted below:

> ” Indeed, there has come to you light and the manifesting book (Quran)”

(Maidah-5: 15)

>>> ” Allah guides unto his light whomsoever He wills>>>”

(Nur-24: 35)

>>> ” Whomsoever Allah does not give light there is no light for him at all”

(Nur-24: 40)

> ” Allah is He who created several heavens and as many earths. His commandments are sent down among them so that you may know that Allah has power over all things. Allah encompasses everything in His knowledge”: (12)

Flag 59: This is not the only Earth: Allah’s Creation: Multiple heavens and earths: Relevance of the declaration reference to context (Talaq-65: 12)

(i) Surah (Talaq-65) primarily deals with marriage (pairing, coupling) related issues with specific relevance to the divorce (Talaq).

(ii) The existence of the text (Talaq-65: 12) concerning creations and mention of the multiple earths and heavens, may be taken as a confirmation of pairing of earth also.

(iii) Similarly, relevance of, (Rahamtul-lill-Alimin), a title for Muhammad, signifies existence of many pairs of earth like creations.
